For a novice like me to the world of Internet based political activism, www.IndiaDemocracy.com presents itself as a very informative and interesting website. The few sites that I have come across on this subject also provide a platform for the people to raise and discuss issues of relevance. They try and inform their users about the various topics of importance. In fact, many of the news sites of today are also trying to provide the readers a platform to express themselves.

But, what differentiates www.IndiaDemocracy.com from the rest is that it is an interactive site. More importantly, it is trying to bridge the gap between the electorate and the people who govern the country. By involving the leaders of this democracy, it provides an interesting two-way information exchange system which helps both parties. The leaders can get the first hand knowledge about what exactly is on the minds of the all important voters of this country and the voters get a chance question the actions of their elected representatives. It makes the politicians a lot more accountable and helps in making the political system of this country more transparent.

Another interesting aspect of this site is that it focuses solely on the process of democracy in a specific region of the world. This helps in capturing the public attention all the more because it increases the chances of the viewer identifying with the issues featured on the site. The people accessing this site feel more at home because the concepts addressed here might affect them in someway or the other. So in a sense, this site has a more customized feel to it.

Having discovered a site like www.IndiaDemocracy.com recently, I am yet to overcome the initial excitement associated with the discovery of an interesting and informative way of looking at India , its democracy and its politics.
