   When I was in computer lab first time&nbsp;in my B.Sc first year, the operating system in the computer was Windows98.&nbsp; I didnot know what is mean by operating systerm or&nbsp;&nbsp;windows98.  
    After thinking for a while, I thought that the computer (operating system) may have 98 different prorams in it.&nbsp; So, my friend and I started counting the number of different prorams in the Start Menu.&nbsp; But the number did not reach 98.  
    After that incident, I forgot it untill I joined B.Tech.&nbsp; Again the doubt, "What is mean by Operating System" arose in my mind.&nbsp; Untill I read the book "Operating Systems" and I get (buy) the Computer, I thought, "Operating Systems means...the combination of programs such as Microsoft Word, Paint etc..."
