If you have a wild temper and want to tame it, here is a simple technique to help you eliminate the habit of anger.

Find out something that you love doing. It can be any activity like fishing, gardening, swimming, cooking, going for a walk, stitching. Any activity which keeps you busy, which you enjoy doing and which can take your mind off anger for some time will do.

Now after you have chosen an activity that suits you best, make sure you keep doing it every time you fell anger building up within you. Move away for some time from the situation or person that is making you angry and use this time to indulge in your chosen activity, long enough till the anger vanishes. If you keep doing this, the frequency of your temper outbursts is likely to get reduced. Eventually you can become more controlled and can conquer your anger habit quite easily.

Here is a simple tip to make people to like you. Whenever you are conversing with someone, find something about them which you like. It could be anything - their smile, the way they stand, their way they walk, their confidence, their neat appearance etc. Just find something which you genuinely like and appreciate.

While talking to them, focus on the thing which you like about them. This appreciation will reflect in your eyes and people will start liking you almost instantly.

If you don't believe this technique is so effective, recall a time when you saw real appreciation for yourself in the eyes of somebody else and remember how you wonderful you felt. Others are likely to feel the same way.
Do you want to succeed fast in business, career, studies etc.? In order to succeed fast you need to fail as fast as possible.

You should be willing to try out new things, be willing to stub your feet and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you are afraid of failing, you will not try new things.

So the simple thing to remember if you want to achieve success fast is to fail fast. I am not saying to fail deliberately (infact you have to try and minimize risk as much as possible), but at the same time you have to be mentally prepared for failure. Any worthwile success takes time and effort. You are likely to make a lot of mistakes along the way and have to learn from the mistakes. If you shy away from mistakes and failures, then you are likely to get frustrated and easily give up on your goals.

Now that you know the secret of fast success (the secret is to fail as fast as possible and as many times as required until you can finally achieve success), let us now look at couple of ways you can use to fail fast:

1.Try out new things: Dont be afraid of trying out new ideas and approaches. New things involve a certain factor of risk because you are attempting them for the first time, but don't let that stop you for going ahead.

2. Make things more challenging: You can try making a task a little more difficult and challenging, so that you can learn new things and fast while doing it. Making tasks more challenging can speed up your learning process and help in improving your skills. But dont try to make them too difficult or else you may give them up altogether.

If you liked the above article, then download this free E-book which contains more information on how to succeed faster by failing fast and other useful business ideas. The ebook is available free to download

< !-- End of StatCounter Code -->

Good night's sleep is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Your sleep
can affect other areas of your life like how you feel during the day, how active
you are, your studies, career, relationships etc.

People should wake up every morning feeling refreshed and energetic without
the need of an alarm clock. This may be possible if you have a good healthy
sleep at night.

Below are some tips for better sleep:

=============================

1. Have a regular bed that is comfortable. Also maintain regular schedule for
sleeping and waking up, even on weekends. Try going to bed at the same time and
getting up at the same time every day. Maintaining this time schedule is very
important. This helps in overcoming sleep problems.

2. Create a sleep-conducive environment that is dark, quiet, comfortable,
cool relaxing.

3. Finish your dinner atleast 2-3 hours before sleeping.

4. Avoid nicotine, caffeine and other stimulants which can be found in
coffee, tea, soft drinks, cigarettes, chocolate etc.

5. Regular exercise can help in maintaining good health and can also be
useful for good sleep. But remember to finish your workout atleast a few hours
before your bedtime.

6. Try to go to bed only when you are sleepy. This avoids that time you often
spend trying to sleep but failing to do so.

7. Keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature, neither too hot nor too
cold.

8. Don't worry unnecessarily if you feel you are not getting enough sleep, as
it might make matters worse. If you have the habit of waking up in the middle of
the night and looking at your clock, it is advisable to turn away the clock from
your eyes so that you have to turn it back in order to see the time and you may
decide not to go through that trouble and might soon overcome this habit.

9. If you cannot sleep for 15-20 minutes then get out of bed and do something
else. Return to bed only when you feel reall sleepy. Repeat this as many times
as necessary during the night.

10. Nutritional food like green vegetables and fresh fruits can help in
improving the quality of your sleep.

11. An old-fashioned remedy is to take two teaspoons of cider vinegar with
two teaspoons of honey in a glass of warm water.

12. Footbaths in lukewarm water can help in inducing sleep.

13. While lying in bed you can visualize various parts of your body
relaxing.

14. Free your mind from worries as they can prevent you from having a restful
sleep. Leave office work at office, do not spend more than 3-5 minutes thinking
about the day's problems while you are in bed, avoid having arguments with
somebody in the evenings as they can interfere with your sleep at night. If you
have a long list of things to do and your mind is constantly thinking about them
then one of the best ways to free up your mind is to write down each important
task on a piece of paper, next to each task you may write down a future date and
time when you want to deal with it. Writing them down will help in uncluttering
your mind so that you can now peacefully go to sleep.

Some tips to help you feel fresh and energetic
during
===================================

daytime:
========

1. If you have problems getting up from bed in morning, then try this simple
technique to fully awaken yourself. Just go into direct sunlight and stay there
for 2 minutes. When we are in darkness, our body produces hormones which make us
feely sleepy. This sleepiness can be overcome by exposing our bodies to bright
light, specially sunlight. You should feel wide awake and fresh now.

2. While getting up in the morning, do not jump out of your bed. Instead take
your time - adjust your clothes, stretch your body and ease out of bed rather
than hurrying. Drink a glass of water to get your system going again.

3. Take short naps during the day to help you remain energetic. You may avoid
sleeping for longer hours during day, but take short naps ranging from 10-30
minutes as these naps will help in recovering lost energy and keeping you fresh
all day long. Research has proved the benefits of short naps and many busy
people have been known to take naps during the day - among them being Thomas A.
Edison, Mark Twain etc.

Tips for people who work in Night
Shifts:
=============================

1. Use room darkening shades or curtains if you are sleeping during
daytime.
2. Use fan to block out outside noises.
3. Try to take regular
meals and balanced diet.
4. Walking, jogging, swimming etc. can help in
making you stay alert and enjoy healthy sleep.
5. Avoid late night
caffeine.

Disclaimer: The information provided here is not intended to be
medical advice. If you suspect that you have a sleep disorder then it is
advicable to seek professional help.

< !-- End of StatCounter Code -->

All of us must have heard the proverb:
"Winners never quit and quitters
never win".

Time and again, we have seen the value of persistence in the
lives
of succesful people in whatever field they were, whether
in
business, politics, sports etc.

But there may be a lot many men and
women who persisted in trying to achieve something yet they failed. You may be
among them, you may have been trying to achieve something from many years and
still have not succeeded.

So what is the difference between people who
persist and finally
succeed and people who fail despite persisting
tirelessly??

There is a very important difference. Read on.

People
who persist and still fail in achieving their desired goals,
are usually
those who keep on doing the same thing again and again
and yet expect a
different result.

Persistence is not about repeating the same thing over
and over and
hoping for a different result each time. It is stupidity,
not
persistence. Such persistence is misguided and not likely to
help
you.

People who tasted success are usually those who learn from
their
mistakes, change their approach, try new things and keep trying
new
things till they are able to finally achieve their desired
result.
Such people are open-minded, willing to learn, try new
approaches
and don't assume they know everything.

Thomas A. Edison
seems to have failed 10,000 times before finally
inventing the light bulb.
Now each time he failed, he tried another
experiment and kept on doing it. He
didnt repeat the same experiment
10,000 times hoping for a favorable result.
If he had done that,
then most likely the light bulb would not have been
invented, not by
him atleast.

So remember the following points while
pursuing your goals:

1. Be persistent.
2. Try another approach if the
earlier one didn't work.
3. Keep and open mind and be willing to learn,
specially from your
mistakes. Do not assume that you know everything.
4.
Do not think that you have tried all possible approaches. You may
have tried
all approaches that you are aware of, but there may be
things that you don't
currently know. So focus on finding newer
approaches.

If you do the
above, then you are giving your mind strong signals
that you are determined
to achieve your goal. Your mind no longer
has any excuses. This is the kind
of persistence that we need.

There is a common complaint among students that they cannot get themselves
interested in a subject. They have to force themselves to study, which can be
bad because they will lack the interest and concentration.

There are certain ways by which you can gain interest in a subject, thereby
eliminating the drudgery associated with it.I will provide you with some tips
which can help to make the subject you are studying more interesting. Even
though applying the techniques I am about to present may take some effort, the
result will be that you may develop new found interest in any particular
subject.

Since the article is long, I will not post it here. Instead you can read
about it in my other blog by clicking the below links:

Here is the link to my blog: http://www.simple-fix.blogspot.com

Here is the link to this particular article in my blog:
http://simple-fix.blogspot.com/2006/12/i-cant-get-interested-in-mediaeval.html

You can leave your feedback and comments there. Thank you.

Introduction:

Do you want to know about a technique which can help you in learning things
faster and better? You can use the "teaching technique" in
order to learn better.

When you read something, or whenever you are trying to learn about any topic
or subject, you can get a better grasp of the subject by teaching it to
somebody.

The Technique:

Whatever you have read and understood, try teaching it to somebody, that will
help to make the subject more clear in your own mind. For example - you have
been reading a chapter in physics, after reading for half an hour, you can close
down the book and then teach what you have learnt to somebody else which will
make the subject more clear in your own mind.

Now lets say that you are in the middle of reading some important topic, and
you want the topic to be firmly driven in your brain by teaching it to somebody,
but the problem is that there is nobody interested to whom you can teach the
subject. What would you do in such a scenario - would you go out on the street
and catch hold of somebody and force him or her to listen to you??

Well.. I certainly do not recommend that, but you can add a little twist to
this technique. If there is no one present who is willing to listen to your
lecture then instead of teaching to humans you can try teaching to your
pet cat, or teach to the door, the curtains, the wall, the book in front of you,
try teaching to your computer screen. Speak out loud on the subject, make
gestures as if you are really teaching. You can also imagine that you are a
teacher and teaching to a large group of interested students.

Does this all sound very silly to you? Remember that the
important thing is not whom you are teaching to, the important thing is to go
through the motions of teaching. Keep doing it even though you may find it silly
in the beginning.

Advantages of the technique:

What happens when you go through the motions of teaching? Here are the
benefits of using this "teaching technique":

1. You repeat what you have just learnt
which helps in remembering the information.

2. You try to put the information in
your own words which will help in clearing up any confusions that you might have
on the subject, the subject matter will become more firmly etched in your mind.

3. You may also notice that there are
some points which you did not understand as perfectly as you thought you did.
You can note down which points you did not fully understand, then re-read about
those points to get better understanding.

4. You will be organising the
information you just studied in your head.

5. While teaching you may get new
thoughts and ideas on the subject. If that happens stop the teaching for a few
moments and note down the ideas that have come to you.

So you see, it does not matter whom you are teaching to - whether it is to
humans, animals or to the walls of your house - just going through the motions
of teaching, trying to explain the subject as clearly as possible in your own
words - will help you in grasping the information more firmly and also helps in
remembering it.

Alternatives:

If you feel silly or embarrassed doing this technique, you may try the
following alternatives :

1. Instead of actually getting up and teaching, just imagine doing it in your
mind.

2. Instead of teaching, you can also try and write down what you have learnt
in an organized manner as if you are trying to write a chapter on the subject
which you have just studied.

Hope all readers of this blog find the technique useful, and get max
benefit out of it. I started this blog with the intention of writing only health
tips, but now I am adding other useful tips which can help all of us to improve
in any area of our daily life like education, social life, confidence,
intelligence etc.

In my next post, I will write tips on how to become interested in any subject
as it is a common complaint among students that they are not interested in
subjects which they have to study.
<iframe name=google_ads_frame
