Its actually funny, u know , when
there are so many things and so many people around you, but the thing
that is closest to your heart is a silly game. Speakin as an Indian,it
goes by the name LAMBDANDAGOLPINDADHADPAKKADPARTIYOGITA. a real tongue
twister isn't it, its also known as cricket for the ignorant. Here, one
guy tries to throw a round thing with as much power as he can, and a
guy wid a wooden stick tries to hit it as far as he can. and ten
others try to stop him from doin the same. but nothin comes even close
to an Indian heart as close as this.

You may have guys boastin bout
Manchester United, or swearing loyalty towards Michael Schumacher, But
deep inside their hearts, they know the one game that they'll not miss
for anythin is Cricket.

I Mean which other game will allow them to sit
in front of tv, give them an excuse to be away from work, and spend
countless hours on analyzing the nittie gritties but cricket. Every
shot is debatable, Every Ball can be discussed, Every hairstyle from Dhoni can be emulated. And every decision can
be hounded for an eternity. Football gets over in a jiffy, an hour and
a half is too little. A race has become too mechanical, A driver today
is simply an additional device in the already overcomplicated car.

And
except maybe basketball, American sports were invented by idiots, and
are watched by millions more. No other game, comes even close to being
contested by humans. Its the only game where the players, even today can
make a difference. It'll never be overmanaged or overcoached, like
football is. Nor can it be changed by some crazy fool, whos sits up in
a cozy room, and passes instructions thru some device.

And it also
gives legions of jobless people like me, something to watch, appreciate
and enjoy action for varying periods . 3 hours, one day, or even a week, the
option is mine......

This is me, and this is my manifesto

My nourishment of choice is Love.
My addiction of choice is technology.
My religion of choice is music.
My currency of choice is knowledge.
My politics of choice is none.
My society of choice is utopian though I know it will never be.

You may hate me.
You may dismiss me.
You may misunderstand me.
I can only hope you do not care to judge me, because I would never judge you.
I am part of one massive, global, tribal village that transcends man-made law, physical geography and time itself.

Until the sun rises to burn my eyes by revealing the dystopian reality
of a world you've created for us, I dance fiercely with my brothers and
sisters in celebration of our life, of our culture, and of the values
we believe in:

Peace
Love
Unity
Respect

My enemy of choice is ignorance.
My weapon of choice is information.
My crime of choice is breaking and challenging whatever laws you feel
you need to put in place to stop me from celebrating my existence.

The music will never stop.
The heartbeat will never fade.

This is me..and this is the manifesto of my generation...

This is just another thought that popped in from a news
report i was reading. In this piece of news a guy was wondering whether
or not to reveal the fact that he is an American on overseas trip! He
believed that by telling everyone he was Canadian he was gonna have a
safer trip!

That brings me to an interesting thought. How many
people do we know who still like America? By people i mean from
different countries. And by America i mean it's policies and not the
people of America or the place itself. Invariably people from most
countries seem to have a problem with American policies and actions. To
the effect that i can safely say that apart from the Americans
themselves very few people actually like America... So when did this
happen? Were people always unhappy with American polices? did we all
always hate America the way we do now?
The answer is an obvious and
a resounding NO! There was a time when America was the big Indian
dream! it still is in many ways! There was a time when the world was an
America-phile!

We Indians understand things best when we put
things in particular contexts. Best of all is cricket. In crickets ye
days there was a period of absolute dominance by the West Indies. It
began with the likes of clive lloyd, andy roberts and michael holding,
and the great viv richards.
They dominated cricket completely for
about 10 years. There was no matching them in their deadly pace attack
or their swashbuckling batting! Likewise we have also had a period of
Australian dominance in world cricket. This I would say is slowly
coming to a grinding halt now.For the last 10 to 12 years the
austrlians have absolutely destroyed all competition and are without
doubt the champions. But there is a striking difference in these two
eras of cricket....

Back in the days when west indies were the
champs, they were amazingly popular winners. They were famous winners
and were liked and loved by all. Every team which played against them
had almost a reverence while opposing them. Every team looked up to
them and wanted to emulate their practices to gain success. However
this was and is not the case with the australians. The australians were
ruthless and aggressive just like the west indies but they often took
their tactics and methods too far. Sportsmanship gave way to ugly
gamesmanship far too many times.Their cut-throat and arrogant ways made
them unpopular winners, which they remain to this day. WHAT DO U THINK
WAS THE DIFFERENCE? Why were the aussies the way they were?

The
difference is simple, and when i tell you this you will know why i have
wasted so much time on cricket history. The simple difference was that
the Australians were a team who were afraid of losing. Their game was
driven by this fear which would lead them to go on to any means to win
the game. The West Indies were simply inspired human beings.

The
conclusion is by now in your head. The Americans have always been
inspired leaders of the world. They were popular superpowers and every
country in the world adhered to Americas word. All the countries looked
up to it and its polices...this was at least 10 yrs ago...
People
may say the change happened with Mr.Bush, others may argue it began
before but the fact is .... America is driven today by FEAR. Be it Fear
of terrorism, of lack of resources(oil etc) or of rapid climate
change... All of americas policies are influenced by their inherent
fear and insecuity. Decisions made out of fear are seldom the right
ones.Their actions, their methods of dominance and crude policies are
quite frankly hated by the world today. America once respected by the
world for their policies is now just that, an unpopular superpower.

     "The
only thing we have to fear is fear it'self - nameless, unreasoning,
unjustified, terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat
into advance." -- Franklin D. Roosevelt

At the UN -

A representative from India began: 'Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Rishi (Saint) Kashyap of Kashmir, after whom Kashmir is named.

When the sage Kashyap struck a rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath.'

He took off his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water.

When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Pakistani had stolen them.

The Pakistani representative jumped up furiously and in support of Pakistan, he shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Pakistanis weren't there then.'

T he Indian representative smiled and said , 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech.'

You know how frustrating it is to mindlessly type something, read
through it once and realize it's meaningful enough to post, read
through it again and decide it's worth nothing and trash it,in like,
half a millisecond? Well, if you don't, ask me, i know that feeling
only too well. I'm not a regular blogger. People who visit my blog
should know that. And if there is someone out there who's visiting my
profile, hats off to you. I haven't exactly been blogging, so, WHY THE
HELL ARE YOU HERE? No offence meant,if the kind observer is still
reading on, you must know i'm frustrated. If you still don't, go back
to line one.

This isn't an infinite loop. (yes i've learnt a bit of
programming).

IF you're reading through the whole thing again, HAIL
WHOEVER, even I haven't been able to achieve that feat. Partly because
i have no control over what i type. No, i don't mean someone is
standing behind me forcing me to type all these things. It's more like,
there's someone in my head, but well, there's someone in everyone's
head, so why bother about my head? Well, it is my head, and my blog,
and if I don't bother about my head, who will?

So here i am, not really
knowing what to say, but babbling once again, for want of better things
to say. My point is, I've proved to myself that i can't blog. Well, not
that i thought i could. OKAY i did. But doesn't everyone think they're
capable of climbing the mount everest? The only thing stopping them is,
well, they don't WANT to do it. But if they should, they could. Not
that i SHOULD blog. Just that i thought i could and the surprising fact
is, I'm not even disappointed, now that i know i can't. But blogging,
right now, seems to be the toughest thing I've ever done. And am doing.
Why i'm continuing to torture myself and the rest of you is beyond my
comprehension. Oh wow, I've actually justified the title! Yipee! that
does mean i can blog, can i? *wink* All i can say now is,
GAWD
HELP THOSE BLESSED SOULS WHO CALL THEMSELVES BLOG READERS, UPON WHOM THE
WEIGHT OF THIS ABSOLUTELY MEANINGLESS POST MUST BE THRUSTED. MAY THEY
REST IN PEACE.
