I truly appreciate the dedication of State Police dept for conducting Vehicle checkings in almost all major areas in the city. Yesterday I was stopped twice near Hitech City and Gachibowli junction while returning from my workplace. I observed that cops are stopping only 40% of the people passing thru the way and thoroughly checking tip to toe(i mean License, RC, pollution certificate and Insurance of each of them who were stopped). When I was stopped, even after showing my company id card( i work in Indian based MNC), still they insist to show my license. Least bothered I had shown them my License along with RC and Pollution check certificate since all of them are available in my wallet, so won't trouble me so much. after that, I was even asked to show Insurance of my bike. I did shown him that by removing my seat and pulling out the papers from box inside. after everything is fine, I asked the constable that why would he need to check Insurance and pollution certificate as a part of Security Protocol and first of all, he didn't ask me to remove my helmet to atleast check my identity. He wasted around 5 - 7 minutes for me alone making others to passby in the meanwhile. In the meanwhile, SI intervened and told me that this check would cover everything(may be it will cover even their pockets). Another person who was stopped along with me had his Insurance expired and entire concentration of SI and other constables got diverted to him. "300 bucks " said SI to that person and I donno how much was the final negotiation since i left. (1). Can't this Security check be limited to Identity(let's include License, company or college id and RC)..? (2) and maximised to check all the commuters bypassing the route making the percentage of checking to 80 - 90%..? I see many people escaping while others(even those who have all the docs valid) are being to asked to show all the docs unnecessarily. Wanted to make this simple suggestion to AP Police dept.
