The six characters Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe and Joey portrayed by Mathew Perry, Courtney Cox,Jenniffer Aniston, David Shwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matt Le Blanc had made America feel that youth is a precious time to be wasted. Youth all across the world were able to relate to those characters and situations they get in and out of.
The last episode would be the most watched one in its history. Aptly titled ? The Last one? the final episode to be aired on May 6th would be in its regular Thursday night slot in NBC, watched jointly by the cast and technicians of the series. The cast would then appear in the hugely popular late night talk show ? The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The series would start a spin-off called ?Joey? starring Matt Le Blanc after he moves to Hollywood to pursue a more serious career. The spin-off would have cameo appearances of the rest of the ?Friends? cast.
"It became comfort television for people.Impossible to ignore the emotional impact as the ending approached. I'd had this huge headache. It was this moment before you're supposed to start weeping, and I just stayed there for the whole night. It was very, very difficult to shoot the last scene, because it was the end of something significant." Says Mathew Perry who played the funny Chandler Bing.
For America Thursday might TV will never be the same and for Indians when the end leaks and becomes known, watching it will never be the same either. As for now, the well crafted series is over for good.
For Indians there is still time

Whispers of days long past
Memories of happiness that could never last
Recalling the bliss of innocence lost
Fearless and free, not knowing the cost
Laughter floating through the air
Unseen children dancing there
Candy covered lips and a pouting face
Frilly little dresses, made with lace
Looking up at the sky, stars shining bright
Eyes sparkling in early morning light
Saying your prayers every night in bed
Then upon your pillow, you lay your head
