I have a past too

Niveditha | People | 30 May 2008, 1:46am

This story might be a wee bit funny to readers because it is quite filmy. This was in year 1987 – 88 when I first met who I have had changing relationship with. Classmate, Fellow Detective (although I don’t blame Enid Blyton), friend (maybe), family (somewhat), stranger (when she implements those mind blowing ideas), pen pal (when we keep in touch once in a blue moon), philosopher (none at all perhaps but I cant say for sure), guide (not really because both of us quite know our directions, or so we think every time) and the best part is yet to come. Perhaps when we both grow old after living our entire lives we will have enough about life to exchange notes. I say this because we are always doing entirely different things, living the opposite lifestyles, have amazingly opposite philosophies, and approach and for heavens sake I don’t know how we still get along with each other despite such poles apart natures.
We are always at cross roads and perhaps are the bet people to give each other a horrible feedback and yet get away with it. Her life is her own and my life is my own BUT when we meet – our life is unknown (to the world).
I don’t think there is a name to this and yet it exists. That is what is so beautiful about some people, relationships and life.

Writer of this script unknown to me..i am just sharing

Niveditha | People | 30 May 2008, 1:36am

I read these lines as they were stuck to a bill board and they certainly made a difference to me. they echoed my thoughts.

Standing for what you believe in,Regardless of odds against you,And the pressure that tears at your resistance,… means COURAGE Keeping a smile on your face,For the sake of supporting others,When inside you feel like dying,…means STRENGTH Stopping at nothing,And doing what is in your heart,Because you know it is right,… means DETERMINATION Doing more than is expected,To make another’s life a little more bearable,Without uttering a single complaint,… means COMPASSION  Helping a friend in need,No matter the time or effort,To the best of your ability,… means LOYALTY Giving more than you have,And expecting nothing,But nothing in return… means SELFLESSNESS When life seems to fall apart at your feet,Facing each day with the knowledgeThat life will bring you better tomorrows,And never giving up… means CONFIDENCE Holding your head high,And being the best you can be Knowing you are GOD s CHILD… means FAITH

Colourful

Niveditha | People | 30 May 2008, 1:35am

Every individual dreams of a bright future and usually imagines a lot of colours. There are several stages each of us travels through and knowingly or unknowingly, life is filled with colours. Bright moments, dull ones – colourful, black and white.

We learn a lot from our parents, family, friends, society and the environment based on our experiences. As we grow we are taught values, most of us are continuously exposed to what not to do, how not to be bad and then about definitions of the other side. In this process we do get a lot of information given to be absorbed but there is no check or balance to see if the same has been absorbed or not.

Life is beautiful. There is so much good and bad. One thing that every individual will be happy living their life is when they wrap their life with all colours and enjoy every one of them with the fullness it has to bring.
No dish can be made with one ingredient.
No feeling can be expressed with one word.
No realization happens in one day.
No day is full with one hour.
When such is the way of the world why don’t we all sit back and think for a few moments.
What is that mindset of people, to think other people’s lives are colourful and bright? It has more than what you can have in your life. Colours exist in everyone‘s lives. We just don’t use them properly.

It is the same story of the bad carpenter blaming the tools.

What ever crosses our path has an intention and a direction. It is in us to set or change direction. One way there is destiny waiting, another way is just walking towards a destiny while reading the signs left everywhere.

Final destination is same for everyone but it is the journey that makes the trip beautiful. Live life to the fullest – and this is just my opinion, you don’t have to be carried away with it or believe it is the truth; it is my experience of truth.

Adopt your child

Niveditha | Reality Bites Philosophy | 30 May 2008, 1:22am

It might look like a dream or ideals personified but a simple thing, a thought has become an idea. With population explosion there are many families and many children. Crime and dissillusionment are partners in crime. Couples with no children or no scope for children may still be parents of a parentless child. I did not chose the word "orphan" because it looks like a hopeless word. A child new born and left to face life even when it does not know survival needs a home. Single child parents, opting for adoption, only when they can be generously open minded, can bring a lot of happiness into the life of their biological child as well as the adopted. Children growing with siblings are prone to be sharing and caring. Upbringing too has its role.
I have something else to say here. I know one man who has adopted a child for her life time and yet she stays with her biological parents. I dont have to say this is a "girl child".
Families who nurture babies until they are born (thanks to certain laws against scanning for gender revealation) have no qualms to leave the child homeless knowing its a GIRL.
I am no feminist. a child is a child. An innocent smile easy to bind a human in tight knots of love. YET, with a lot of exposure to the world and its ways people imagine they are forced to be people they are and have become thick skinnes to a tender smile.
Bonding is such a difficult thing, even when everyone is stranger, even when known.
..... all because wordsworth said ..... there is no time to stand and stare.... even to know self.
