Parugu

Hi .......... Bye.
Don't get surprised, this is the character of Allu Arjun in the movie Parugu. He doent stay at any place for more than 10-15 mins or so. The movie will also not stay in any theater for more than 50-60 days. i think you have got idea about the movie, yes it is an average movie, just can have a look if you are free.
Parugu, Bhaskar and All Arjun combo which only impressed Dil Raju but not the audience. Having a faced paced title, the movie rolls on slowly. It is no where has the feel of run.
When it comes to the story, Neelakantha is a landlord and people consider him as the leader of the whocle vilage. He has two daughters Subbalkshmi and Meena. Subbalakshmi elopes with her lover, for which Krishna (Allu Arjun) helps.
Neelakantha in order to trace her daughter arrests all the close friends of her lover and loccks them in a room, in the premises of his house. Krishna is also locked in this room. When he tries to escape from there, he happens to see a girl in the snowy morning and decides not to run away from the village till he traces out the girl. All this happens in mere 20 mins from the start, and rest of it is wasted in finding the girl he saw. Acidentally she is Meena, second daughter of Neelakantha. Hmmmm this is the interval bang. Though he has stretched the story in the first half, the comedy traclk with Sunil was impressive and the visuals are good to see.
Now any guesses what would be the second half???? ..............
Yes you have guessed it right half the time is wasted in search of Subbalakshmi. When Prakash Raj finds Subbalajshmi, she disrespects her father so severely that you can never imagine those from a girl who came from village. He simply walks away and goes back to his village to get Meena married. Though Allu Arjun knows this he couldn't do anything as he thinks twice about her father before thinking about her. (Hey excuse me ...... is there anyone out there who does this when your lover is getting married).
Now slowly movie comes to the climax...this scene was really plotted well but the execution failed. Prakash Raj did his best but Arjun, he also as usually failed to deliver. The story ends here with Prakash Raj handing his daughter to Arjun (routine)
Hmmmm... about romance in the movie, it remained untouched. Even what hero can do if the heroine falls in love with him after 2hrs from the start of movie. Action sequences fell flat and the music was so so. Arjun din't had scope to dance in his style, which made movie even slow and boring.
I thought the theory of First Wonder Next Blunder wil not influence Bhaskar, but sadly it did. No match with the Bommarillu, that is definitely true. Happy news is that those who fell prey to this theory became great directors, hope he will be among them.
The main negative point in this movie is that the director never tried to establish strong relationship between father and daughters, which he claims he did it. The positive point is that Arjun was looking descent. The director went wrong in the selection of the heroine. Though Jayasudha dint had a lengthy character, she wes at her best.
Anyways it can be watched once with 2-3 buckets of popcorn and 4 bottles of soft drinks (as the movie is slow, dont blame me if they aren't enough).
I rate this movie 2/5......... Sorry bhasker you would have scored much more. And Arjun be carefull, earlier you were the best dancer (industrial talk) but now you fading under the youngsters like NTR and Charan.

Jalsa

JALSA................................Hmmmmmmmmmm What should i write about this movie. Was it god or bad? Is it a hit or a flop? What was the story? These are the questions thronged my mind when I saw the movie for the first time in the theater. But, when I saw it for second and third time, it was clear to me that this movie wil be one of the highest grossers in 2008.
What confused me?
What were the reasons behind the opinion of the first watch and the second?
Why it was clear afetr watching it for second time?
What...............
Wait buddy I am coming with my review and answer all your questions.
Hmmmmmm JALSA... the much awaited movie of the year, has hit the screens on 8th April 2008. Till date it is shown to full houses. I think the major part of the credit of this success should be given to Allu Aravind|(producer). He was the man responsible to create sensational publicity for a hero who had continues flops over the years. He had a plan, he executed it and now he is enjoying the success. He did everything to create such hype for Jalsa. The names of Trivikram, Pawan Kalyan and Ileana were add ojns to that. Finally and finally, after many postpornments, it got released in summer.
From release till date it din't had an uniform opinion, but it turned to be bigest hit of 2008. It has crossed 50 days mark and still running strong. Its collections were so huge that its first week collections stood 9th among the highest groosers of the week around the world. For a regional movie, it is huge.
Now when it comes to the story of the movie, Sanjay Sahu (Pawan Kalyan) is a naxalite turned student who lives in costly bunglaw with his friends , wears costly attire and keeps on boozing all the time. Now you should not ask me from where did he get all these comforts. Hmmm.. yes he is a PG student. Now here comes Bhagyamathi alias Bagi (Ileana) and her friend is Jo(Parvathi Melton). As usually, when these two are been chased by group of goons, Sanjay trashes them and commonly they both fall in love with Sanju, which is happening since many years in movies. After this intresting first fight, Bagi and Jo fall in love with Sanju. Finally afetr many attempts Bagi, a dumbo, wins over JO, an intelligent girl. In first half we can also see the building of the charcater of vilian Damodar Reddy against hero with few attacks and chases. In the intrval director gives and intresting twist to the story, revealing that Sanjay was a naxalite. Now thereaders and audiencce will raise thousands of questions which a typical Tollywood movie cannot answer.
Now after a twist in first in first half you would expect the movie to get serious and intresting. Though it is interesting, it is not serious. Second half shows how Sanjay Sahu became a naxalite (which was very interesting) and how he quits the naxalism and gets back to normal life. Here at this point i got terribly dissapointed because after watching a movie like Gamyam, in which he has shown naxalism very seriously, i couldn't digest the way they have shown it.There was no seriousness in the character of Sanju.
After all this bakwas flashback ends, Bagi and Sanju gets seperated for some reasons and then get united, between which we will have good dose of action and comedy. The scenes shot between Prakash Raj and Pawan are very interesting and also hillarious.
Hmmmmmm the climax, as usually a fight, a lecture and the death of the villain. Yes this is why i call this as a formula film, but in this movie though it had followed the formula, the director did it in different way (hillarious way). Hats off to Trivikram and Pawan Kalyan to make a perfect entertainer.
The visuals throught the movie were marvellous, especially the scene where Damodar Reddy grbs land from a mafia don, And when it comes to the songs, the were too good, my herat is beating is good example of the taste the director has.
Ileana looked pretty good in arole of a dumbo who does everything late by 10 secs. Pawan looked like an obvious choice for the role and was at his best. Sunil and Brahmanandam did a decent job in tickling bone. I think after Khushi, this is the only movie in which Pawan looked handsome, hillarious, jovial, funky body language and ultimate energy. Though it cant revive the charm of Khushi, it certainly dis something for Pawan Kalyan, who have never tasted the taste of success after Khushi. I am glad that PK's Power is back.
On the whole the movie is good enough to give PK a big hit and Aravind crores of profit. Devi did his magic again.
I rate this movie 3/5. To relieve yourself from tensions, watch Jalsa.
