| Krushi Bank chief hiding in Thailand |

Hyderabad, July 18: The Crime Investigation Department has learnt that Kosaraju Venkateswara Rao, who is wanted by the police in connection with a bank scam, is in Thailand. Venkateswara Rao was the chairman of Krushi Urban Co-operative Bank and had fled the country after the scam came to light in the year 2001. Interpol tipped off the Central Bureau of Investigation about his presence in Thailand and the information was passed on to the CB-CID. However, despite getting the information, nothing much has been done to extradite Venkateswara Rao because of the inordinate delay in translating the legal documents from English to Thai language. |
