The week has thrown up more surprises that I could ask for. It feels like just yesterday that I left Mumbai for work in 'mana hyd' . Cant believe its the same Mumbai that I see in the TV and read about in the papers now.
Was excited coming down to Hyd on saturday itself for a Monday morning meeting. Who would miss out on a chance to catch up with scores and scores of friends from engg? Its thursday evening now and still in Hyd trying to figure out when the air service would resume to Mumbai ( not that I am complaining though!!)
The long walk along the Necklace road last night brought back so many memories of yesterdays. The first year after engg ( cant believe that 3 years have past since then!), first jobs, first salaries, first bikes, first ATM cards - so much excitement, so much anticipation in life.
3 years later, a post graduation from an IIM, salary more than 3 times the first one, but cant help but think - am I really more happy than I was during that first year in Hyd.
Hyd has its own charm - a laid back life style which none of the other big cities in India can offer. Ask me, a Mumbaite now ( guess after an year in Mumbai can call myself one!) how much it means to have a peaceful stretch like the tank bund and necklace road to go for a peaceful walk in the night.
So many thoughts, so many questions - brings me back to a philosophical level - what is it that we go after when we leave our places and venture to other big cities - other countries
Guess my musings are wandering more and more as I wait for the flights to resume to Mumbai .....Who cares - all I know is it means a few more biriyanis and a few more telugu movies..:-)
