tides

potplant | General | 28 July 2006, 9:54am

Do human beings have tides like oceans? i mean... our body is made of fluids too, blood, Cerebrospinal fluid, piss in the bladders, water in the gut and so forth. Alright... lets leave blood alone because it has a lot of other forces acting on it, but the rest?

Good question....wiki it if you are serious. I guess it has something to do with gravity.

rock_26iin | 30 Jul 2006, 2:11am

u wud if u keep spinning at the speed of the earth :P

Potplant | 30 Jul 2006, 2:23pm

rock: If the earth is spinning, so are we, are we?

Ariza: I will wiki it, anyway, gravity applies to everythign , independent of how heavy it is, oceans and fluid in our body alike.

rock_26iin | 30 Jul 2006, 3:24pm

yeah, but we're spinning relative to the earth's axis. the earth is spinning relative to its own axis therefore to get the tides, we oughta spin relative to our own axis

And dont the tides have something to do with the gravity of the moon?

Potplant | 31 Jul 2006, 5:55am

Rock: Exactly, now u got th catch point, tides have to do with teh gravititational pull of the moon and the sun, so you got to calculate the motion of a body in relation to teh moon (which in this case is equal to that of earth, right?)

rock_26iin | 2 Aug 2006, 11:09pm

then again, we dont weigh as much as the earth. so our gravitational pull is totally negated by the moon's. It all about having a sense of proportion :P
