Gamyam
Abhi (maharshi) | 28 May 2008, 3:40pmFirst of all i want to thank Krish, the director of this movie, to make a film like Gamyam. Now you will wonder why? In the current situation good and meaningful movies are very less but, this movie has the stuff to call a great movie. From many years tthere is myth that the movies which talks more about any message will not succeed at the BO, but movies like Aa Naluguru and Gamyam has proved it wrong. I agree the director did a brilliant work but the song written by sastry garu (sirivennela) speaks louder than the movie. The script work is brilliant and the screenplay was excellent. The feel of watching a great movie was never down for 2 hrs. For movie enthusiasts this is a great treat. I always prefer good movies with great technicalities, excellent screenplay, good acting and having something to carry home. Truely speaking i have found all these qualities in very few films and these not even a single movie. But, gamyam has all the qualities. Truely speaking the lyrics of sastry garu have a great impact on me, which are reflected in the poems i write. But, the song of yentha varaku yendukoraku inta parugu ani adakku has literally changed the way i see my life. When it comes to the story, the whole movie reveolves around three characters of Abhiram, Gaali Seenu and Janaki. Abhiram, son of a rich businessman having all the qualities which you expect a man with that kinda background. He falls in love with Janaki, an orphan, a medicao, a social activist, contributes heavily to the people in need etc., etc., qualities which genarlly a idealistic will have. Abhiram, falls in her at the first sight when he sees her dance performance for the benefit of the orphanage. She doesnt accept him immediately. In the process of convincing her, he knows what the life she is living and for what she is living. But his views are different from her, the streets in which she sees themisery of the people he saw the dirt and rubbish. Their relationship slowly becomes love, in the course of a song. The happy love story suddenly takes a twist in the bbirthday party of Abhi, where his freind insults her. Inreturn Abhi argues that the party means all the stuff and there is no need to care of that. He argues that he has beared all the rubbish around her, which hurts her alot, and why doesnt she can bear. This is the point these two get split and Janaki moves away from the town. This is where Abhi meets with an accident. After recovering from the injuries he starts searching for Janaki, knows that she is not in town and sets off to trace her. On the way happens to meet Gaali Seenu, who robs and sells the bikes. He joins Abhi, with intensions to rob his swanky sports bike. When Abhi saves Seenu's life in an incident, he becomes loyal freind to him and promises of tracing her out. From here these two ride on to find Janaki, in between meeting many variety of people, vilages, a pregnant lady stck in the traffic and naxalites and a travelling dance troop. As he moves on Abhi slowly knows what the life really is. When they were about to reach Janaki, they get trapped in the hands of the naxalites. These are the scenes which every one want to have a second look atleast, becaouse of the dialogues written, action of the artists and the frames which are really shot in the forests. In the attempt of saving Abhi and another naxalite, Seenu loses his life. The background song in this situation was excellent. After this incident Abhi meets Janaki. The scenes showing a baby taking birth and a friend loosing life in the same hands of Abhi were really moving. The conversation in the forest with naxalites also show the real condition prevailing in the society. Director has brilliantly handled this scene without abusing anyone directly but showing the facts in the words of Gaali Seenu. The character the Naresh played is life tim erole for him. I think this was the great opportunity to seal his place in the industry as a good actor, which he did. The movies he signed says the story. I think Tollywood is the only industry in this country which has great demand for remakes and dubbed movies. Many shows the lack of good stories is the cause for this and slowly all started to think whether there would be any movie which we can also cherish about?, Gamyam is the answer for this. It has a rare combination of great story, with which a movie is considered art film, and BO cashing technique. This is the movie which has not only had influenced Tollywood film amkers but also many others who lining and bidding higher rates to get hold of the copyrights of the movies. Already Surya Movies has anounced that they remaking Gamyam in Tamil. The directors who have brilliant ideas and start offf with a great movies at times fall prey to the vicious cycle of making movies with those big starts who doesn't allow directors to do their work and make the script spoil. I wish RADHAKRISHNA shouldn't come under these section of directors. Any ways shaould be carefull as his nextproject itself is with a bigstar and aswani dutt. The subject which the director has selected is a very huge and new subject. But the efforts made to fit that subject to few pages of script and converting it into few reels has paid off. For this movie a MS graduate from US has become director betting hs career and this movies made his career as a director. I wil rate this movies 4/5.
