TO MR AND MRS GEORGE SAMUEL
Come with me ,come with me ..
To the town in far off italy,
where everyone is always happy,
and worries of all kind are barred from entry.
Meet George,all of 26 yrs old.
Handsome and intelligent...Thats what his mother says he is
( Hes got blue eyes you know!)
Meet his father Mr Samuel,all of 50 yrs old .
Ask him to talk and he'ell tell you,
" My son George yeah hes different from the rest ,
He has all the girls,the very best !
Afterall hes been to the city ,you know !!!"
Meet the old ladies association ,
What is their topic today?
"ah ! says old Mrs Vincent,that boy George,
He has come of age ,
He must find himself a pretty n dum dame soon
Before his biological clock ticks away !"
In walks Mrs Samuel and loudly exclaims ,
"Yes thats true , but its a choice,
so difficult to make ,
My son george,he deserves the best,
Afterall hes been to the city you know !!
But yes ,i too need some rest.
And i need somebody to cook for george,
and do his laundry,
I must find him a wife,
for everything to get nice and sundry !!"
Meet Tina Fernandes,all of 21 yrs old..
Shy and petite,a perfect girl-Thats what they called her ...
Not like the new ones,who chattered too much...
She would be a good catch,
And plus ,she would Never speak her mind ..
So Mrs Samuel..one fine day ..
Went to the Fernandes's with gooseberries and apples..
to lure the prey ...
Everythin got settled,
No worries at all,
Remember i told you ,
The town in far off italy ...
as happy as it could ever be..
Tina was to marry George..
At the holy St Mary's church ...
The wedding would be grand ..
Afterall George has been to the city you know !!
Once before the wedding did Tina meet George
By the sunset ,at the seaside they sat,
Tina stared at george and thought,
"How lucky i am ,
to get this wonderful man,
Handsome and tall,
How beautifully on his shoulders his ponytail does fall ..
How lucky i am ,
To get this wonderful man,
hes got blue eyes ...Rita's man had black ones !!!
Plus ,George has been to the city you know !!!
george smiled ,
He read her thoughts ..
and as if to call the final shots ...
He leant forward ...
She blushed..
And pink he flushed ...he kissed her on the cheek..
and said in a voice that was romantic yet meek ...
"You've got ten bucks ?
I need beer , my throats never been dry for so long !"
Tina smiled..
She reached out for her pocket and obliged ....

So,the 15th of september ,the big day arrived ..
Not once before to St Mary's church did so many people arrive ...
Misty eyed Tina and handsome beaming george ...
were to be bound in holy matrimony ...
george went to the altar ,
And to tina he swore ,
" To you i will always be true ..
and at all times the only person i love will be you ...."
Amixture of relief and joy on everyones face...
as he opened up the wedding champagne ....
But then alas !!!! he shared it with his wife's best maid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
It created a furore ...!!!!
Like never before ....
The priest cried .."What a shame !!"
Mrs Fernandes sighed "Whose to blame ?!!"
Tinas face filled with tears of remorse ...
"Why george ??" ,she cried ,"Where did i go wrong ??!!"
Mr Samuel ,stoic as ever .."My son George could do no wrong !!"
Mrs Samuel ---"Surely there must be a solution ..."
"Surely it must be George's illusion !!"
The old ladies association was called upon ,
They were to decide who was the flower and who the thorn ...
They looked at Tina ,teary and sad ..
(her wedding dress looked awful !!!)
they looked at the best maid ...
("Slut !!" they exclaimed )
They looked at George ..
a charming smile he smiled ...
and immediately the decision was taken ..
George-Not guilty ..!!
The best maid would be thrown out of the happy town ....
And no,Tina didnt frown ...
her tears of remorse turned into tears of joy ...
(George promised her a new wedding dress !!!)
And so ended the story ..
"George could never be wrong ",i heard one old lady say ..
"Why ?",i asked "Why not i pray ??"
She pulled me close ....
"How could he be wrong ..?? Hes been to the city you know !!!"
At this i felt a little fire in me ...
But boy ,this fire id rather not fuel ...
So i just raised my glass and loudly said ..."To Mr and Mrs George Samuel !!"
