from these ashes
shall He rise
the trident-weilding
three-eyed pearl
of the trinity
in Him shall
the three passages of time
merge into timeless;
in Him shall
the three worlds of might
unite into boundless;
in Him shall
the three dimensions of perception
dissolve into wakefulness
and at this place
where music and silence mingle
darkness and light combine;
where the living dread
and the dead rest,
shall you hear the steps
of His eternal dance

bare to your bone
though you stand
the sky is the mirror
to your beauty
some playful girl
chased by her dad
will pick up your fallen leaf
and kiss it in joy
some aimless breeze
on a summer evening
will, while you are in slumber,
listen to your silent song
some solitary bird
weary in its flight
will make you its home
till the skies rain again

Dancing his dance
Ashamed is my child
To look at his mother’s face
that has aged with love
A million faces, I see
in the mirror
Scarred, wrinkled, gloomy
Dire, proud and fair alike
All of them, mine
And mine, all
But none is mine
And mine, none

how shall i bury you
in the graveyard of time
i fear -
when i come visiting
to soak in my fond memories
will i be able to find you here
and will you welcome me
with the same smile
of the familiar
when you, instead, visit me
will you do so
at moments unwelcome
and wring my placid hour
with haunting nightmares
that i must forget
as you leave me so
as you un-partner me
in this unfinished shower
i stand frigid, wet
dripping in shame
unclothed, unclean, uncertain
a little more shrewd
a little less wise
a lot more fucked
and a little more dead

she chases you;
center of the world
you are for her
you run, you evade
she can't catch
yet loves the chase
and then, she dies
when your feet
find their ground
you do the chase
the baby runs
you can't catch
yet you won't stop
and then, you die
is this the all
of life, then
a futile run?
a vestige of death
unlived and forgotten
perhaps!
but then, you noticed -
did you not -
the glee in her eyes
when she, briefly,
caught you, and held
to her bosom
the same sparkle
of joy untold
you find
in the little one's
eyes
when, briefly though,
she is caught by you
how did your feet
you now wonder
not get hurt
running in that wild
it was so,
for your father's hands
rested firmly
below your tender feet
whose every step
was the throb
of his heart
and now your
pining heart knows
as your hands, too,
brave the rigid ground
to make for
the steps gentle
of the little one
that unmistakable glee
in their eyes
that shower their love
on you,
those invisible hands
that protect
on every torrid tread
they extend,
they transcend,
days, years, ages
and all limits of time
and embrace you
in all your moments
even when, done in by death
you turn formless
for, the best joys
the glistening tear
the lilting song
and the love
of the loving
and for the loved
are they not formless?

with its forelimbs
it jimped
with the long hindlimbs,
it jamped
then lifting all the four
off the wet ground
it jumped
barely a foot away
taken aback
on a stroll in the dark
i tripped, almost
"fucken frog!"
i cursed
and walked on
having landed fine
and heaving a sigh
it turned around,
threw a gaze
that hit my back
then it croaked,
"fucken monster!"

The mirror when broken
in pieces two
Will trick your eyes
and show faces two
Do you, then, O one
become two
Just because it says
you are now two?
You were never one
if you are two;
If you are one
you will never be two

Her infirm hands held the revolver
She played, but trigger left loose
Oh! but what an aim it was
The speeding bullet
Ran through my daughter’s head
Enraged, my daughter’s father
Shot at the woman, his mother
The frail woman felt the metal
Pierce and split her heart
In twos, threes and pieces
On seeing his wife in blood
He, my father, pulled his
On his son, with an aim sharp
Into the brains it went
One thought it was the last
But when fate could play
A roulette so messy
It had one more round
The last one, for the little one
My daughter, at my father
We never lived together
But die together, we did
Or so I thought, as we
Lay, in blood, on the floor
The muzzles still fuming
I wanted to see, I remember
The spire in Moscow
That my mother told about
To her fond son, who
Shot her tonight dead
Four shots, one by accident, pull
Curtains on four lives -
Two fathers; one mother;
One husband; one wife;
One son; one little daughter
Is this cruel or is this funny
I wonder, as I gasp for breath
My eyes close; the Sun has set
And then a miracle…….

With an Austrian so grim
How do I celebrate, I wonder
He has issues with my Mom
So, oh, I can’t even call her!
Kevin Pietersen’s favorite score
I gather; “What an association”,
Dad would remark. And add,
“Get over with your fixation!”
He will smile for no cam
While flipping his cigar swish
Before I slip from couch,
“Happy birthday, Dad!” I wish

just as swiftly
as a fleeting thought
just as quietly
as a soothing dream
just as effortlessly
as the eyes blink
just as easily
as a kite undone
just as pompously
as a spartan feast
just as choicelessly
as you were born
just as pointlessly
as you had lived
and…
just like that
as a whiff of cold
on a barren dusk
you will die
