yeah, but we're spinning relative to the earth's axis. the earth is spinning relative to its own axis therefore to get the tides, we oughta spin relative to our own axis
And dont the tides have something to do with the gravity of the moon?
Rock: Exactly, now u got th catch point, tides have to do with teh gravititational pull of the moon and the sun, so you got to calculate the motion of a body in relation to teh moon (which in this case is equal to that of earth, right?)
then again, we dont weigh as much as the earth. so our gravitational pull is totally negated by the moon's. It all about having a sense of proportion :P
Good question....wiki it if you are serious. I guess it has something to do with gravity.
