When blogs are privatised
Posted by Script Writer | Category [ General ]Comments (22) | Trackbacks (0)
When you have not made a post for as long as I have it kind of becomes difficult to start again. Not because you don't get ideas. Paucity of them has never been a hurdle - I write crap anyway.
Since I am making a reappearance, I have to make sweeping statements. The buzzword in the Indian Economy has been privatisation for a long time now. It is disturbing to note that the concept has made its way into the arena of fullhydblogs, too. It is a trend which has to be done away with, and I am not talking of the Economy.
Over the last few months I realised that the Indian Economy is booming, and that is despite the best efforts of the government. Alas, the same is not true of blogs. Come to think of it, nothing much is true of blogs, not even the content in them. So, I guess one must not care too hoots for some loser's ramblings that were made on a Saturday night just because he/she was not able to get a date.
But, it does make you wonder about the psycology behind the whole thing. Is this a vindication of my theory of reverse vanity? The theory states: Reverse vanity is a state of being in which people become so full of themselves that they consider even a cursory glance of a lesser being (read the rest of the world) derogatory to their existence, so much so that they decide to vanish from the pubic eye.
It is not so much of a mental condition as it is a condional mentality. People afflicted with it are known to make general sweeping statements and being self-righteous. The occurence of the condtion is not known to the junta outside the realms of the fullhyd bloggers because I did not deem them fit enough for it. So, celebrate you all - at least someone appreciates your lowly existence!

14 Jul 2004, 12:46pm
The SAME thing which struck drp first in this post jumped out at me too. Should I be concerned?
Ok, seriously, nothing. I rarely make serious comments anyway.
14 Jul 2004, 4:29pm
man!!!! i didnt even see it!!
drp..how in the WORLD did you see that??
and Aran you too??? tsk tsk tsk...i expected more from you :P
and script writer, its also called reverse status...people who try to be different and do not adhere to trends which are mainstream are also trying to seek attention...in their own way.

Well, well, well, looks like I ruffled a lot of feathers here. Was it not implicit that what I said in my blog is true of my blog, too!
And, martiandevil, I had not intentions of rubbing anyone the wrong way. My blog does say that they are my random ramblings. drp, seriously, all this was meant to be taken in the right spirit. I guess I should have followed Neurotron's advice and used smilies!

And, Aran, I do not think I need to make any clarifications to you, of all people!
16 Jul 2004, 2:18pm
heh heh *last laugh*.
On the subject of typos, I think 'condional' and 'too'(hoots) run 'pubic' eye close, dontcha think?
Ha ha! Pubic Eye makes sense to me. Hmm, maybe *I* should be concerned now...
17 Jul 2004, 9:21pm
Oh yes, Neurotron, you should be concerned now. Those were not typos - they were more a Fraudian slip. Now you know where I get all my weird and whackiness from, no offence to Aran.
20 Jul 2004, 5:22pm
you know, it appears we both started our blogs here on the same day.
Hmmm...
20 Jul 2004, 5:54pm
What's your point? Yours is more popular so that makes you a better writer? I agree! :)
21 Jul 2004, 12:39am
dude...u messed up again!
"Fraudian Slip"?! !!! thats a lotta fraud in there :P
another typo :D:D
*Freud turnin over in his grave*
21 Jul 2004, 9:44am
No point - just an observation. So chill.
Aha! A smiley!
21 Jul 2004, 2:41pm
..and we both have 'ramblings' in our blog descriptions.
*sharp intake of breath*
Now show me the scar...
21 Jul 2004, 3:08pm
drp, for all you know 'Fraudian' slip might have been deliberate. Would not like to trouble the man in his grave by using his theories when what I would propose would probably be fraudulent anyway.
Neurotron, come to think of it, I think I am the only person who has not messed up the spelling of your name even once. May be our blogs having similar titles is not coincidental - perhaps there is something more sinister lurking in the darkness. As Bond, James Bond, would say: The first time it is incidence, the second time is coincidence, and the third time is enemy action.
PS: The smiley was used to avoid any misunderstandings that might crop up between us due to our comments. I think I have rattled enough people already.

Sorry I woke up late, and thanks all for highlighting the typos.
Neurotron..we think so alike! Exactly same typos jumped. And hit the shocking point with Freud being..typoed!
So, drp..think of me twisting in my grave before Freud does!
But nevertheless, this was a good post. In the sense, I liked your sweeping statements. You must continue jarring people! In ways more than just in typos ;)
24 Jul 2004, 10:46am
And one more thing.
Will Neurotron now run toward Script Writer thinking of him to be the lost brother, hindi movie style?
24 Jul 2004, 10:56am
Stupendous Man, your comments came in a whole thirty-eight minutes apart. And if your second comment was actually an after thought as you made it out to be, I shudder to think what your reaction time would be if your pubic hair were to be pulled out using tweezers.
And, I don't know what Neurotron will do now. The ball surely is in his court. He just has to see the obvious - he cannot be that naive to not.
28 Jul 2004, 12:49pm
I am reasonably convinced the "fraudian" slip in the comments was intentional, enhancing its effect. Props to Script Writer for that one.
I am not a runner. I doubt if SW would want me to be, either, given what I might do if I was...Hindi movie style. Yes?
28 Jul 2004, 5:39pm
Well, Neurotron, I do not expect you to do the running - it would be too cruel of me to expect those old legs of yours to do that. Besides, I guess having been separated this long it probably will be best if we remained that way.
3 Aug 2004, 9:58am
Ruffled feathers? Whose? Where?
3 Aug 2004, 1:16pm
Ah well, Aran, I guess even the best of us err every once in a while. My humble apologies, Madam.
3 Aug 2004, 5:28pm
What exactly are you apologising for?
3 Aug 2004, 10:27pm
Now that you have asked me, I really do not know what the apologies were for. May be I rendered them in a moment of absolute melancholy. May be there is something more sinister lurking in the woods. I really do not remember.
