Blues and Blahs of parties...

Posted by dawn in General | 3:10pm

I hate these parties where I have to escort my parents like yesterday, all I ever had to do was dress prettily and go around with my mom while she took pride in introducing me to her friends, and 'She is my daughter'; the same old routine

Current Mood: Bored
Current Music: leave me alone..

Hmmm...growing old is not a fun thing, you know. The desperation to hang onto a past youth is VERY powerful...
...and the only way they can do that is like this.
I know it can get on the nerves sometimes, but it's not too difficult to be a leeeetil more accomodating.. :-D
I've tried it, and it's not so bad.

@Neurotron: Hmmm.... U r right. We def shud be more accomodating to the elderly. But whatever happened to aging gracefully. U need not have tattoos n pierced navels to stay young!!!

totally agree with Neurotron tat we need and can be a lil accomodating; after all we aint gonna stay young ourselves forever, r we?
but then i will also have to agree with No Namer regards aging gracefully, to where is it disappearing??

Im totally for the graceful thing. There is a significant difference between the 'elderly' as NN said, and the 'older'. The elderly need love and respect - they themselves rarely feel a need to 'bond' at our level.
Im talking about the 'older' ppl - in their 40s or so. We shudnt deny them the opportunity to relive their youth thru us...if 'bonding' with us by acting like teenagers helps them be happy, so be it. I can do that for them. Of course, there are limits :-D
And well-adjusted 'olders' usually know the limits.
But the 'hey, lets get a tattoo together!' is pretty much in the 'no, thank you' category though! :-)
