We are often confronted with age-old statements and definitions and our education system makes us to vomit them for the sake of examination and marks. One classic illustration is the environmental pollution and destruction of forests. Now all of us have the basic idea that people cut trees at an alarming rate that destroys our forests and the natural habitat. But how many of us have really known about the forests, number of trees or visited them to see the actual reduction or at least try to understand who are cutting the trees and why?
Our students harbour some misconceptions due to our education system which slowly get incorporated into their ideas over a period. And imagine the plight of the set of students who are not able to understand or mug the given topics. The state of teachers is even miserable with the pressure of finishing the portions on time. They are often forced to conduct activities mechanically without understanding their purpose and their relation to children’s learning process!
Films like Taare Zameen Par highlights the need for implementing a need based rational education system. Most developed countries practise activity based teaching process which inculcates in students not only the method of executing what is being learned but also makes them confident while implementing them. That, should be the purpose of education.
Yes I found out from wiki that MHRD is the MOE(Ministry of Education) in India headed by Kapil Sibal and current MoS(Minister of State) is Daggubati Purandeswari from APPermalink | Comments (2) | Trackbacks (0)

The Indian constitution contains the Fundamental rights that guarantee civil liberties to all citizens of India. The elected representatives and the civil servants are responsible for the amendment, successful implementation and effective promotion of these rights. Politicizing policies will help in better understanding issues and take decisions en masse.
In India we have this uniqueness where in spite of the different linguistic and logistic distinction/variance, people are able to move freely and work in any location we choose. The rights issue and the various agitations henceforth for upkeeping the rights basically showcase the failure of the elected representations and their implementors. But the people are also to think that the targets of agitation are not foriegn as was the case leading to our independence but our kindred. A rational education based on cause, effect and previous experience can moderate the hindrance to growth in certain sections of the public and the republic.
The press and mass media can be heavily biased and it is much needed to analyze and review the happenings that take place about us. Even google can be biased and wikipedia is never accepted as a source of correct information. To solve the issues constitutionally is the need of the hour, without encashing on the exchequer. It is entirely difficult for certain section of the people to envision the prospective outcome of the highly glorified legislations and the people centric ombudsman and hence it necessitates the civil servants to act judiciously.
