Vegas Fever

Posted by sneha | 28 Nov 2007, 5:34am

I've been to las vegas recently.This was my first trip to the place. We were four of us and I was the only one who hasnt seen it before.Having heard so much about it from everyone,I wanted to see the place . Las vegas strip is the most happening place in vegas .We checked into a hotel and had a bad dinner buffet and went out to see the other hotels. Each hotel here has a theme like egyptian,italian etc. We went to MGM grand to play but dint dare to gamble on the first day in vegas. I played a lil on the slot machine and won a couple of dollars and went back to our hotel .The next morning we started our hotel exploration.We saw ceasers place , venetian etc.By now the gambling fever caught me and I stopped at every slot machine to try my luck..
After roaming the whole day and seeing other hotels we saw a show in Bellagio. The shows here are very good (Better to watch a show than lose money in gambling).The next also went the same way - roaming in the day and gambling at nights... I wonder if any one here earns money(excluding the casino). I had a little luck and earned 50 bucks but wouldnt stop at that I wanted to earn more money (read wanted to have more fun) ended up losing a couple of hundreds to the casino .
By the end of the trip all of us left vegas with head aches( due to lack of sleep) , body pains ( never walked so much in my life) and with our wallets empty !!!!
Guess this is how people leave vegas !!!!!

Transformation

Posted by sneha | 11 Jan 2007, 6:17pm

Transformation - From a mom's pet to an independent woman!!!

I was very dependent person.Anything I want I used to go to my parents.They used do everything for me.I never paid my fees also.My mom used to come to
school and college to pay the fees.I didnt want to be like that .But I was like that I couldnt help it.

I did my schooling and graduation in my hometown so I didnt have a chance to live on my own.I decided that I
would stay away from my home when Im working(try to be independent).Alas my company people were very considerate and gave my posting in my city only.
How I wished I  would live away from home!!!!(not that I had any problems at home.My parents are great and I just love my sisters.I just wanted to stay away for
 a while and get back)
I had my training also in my place only.I worked for a while and my project completed .I was looking for a project in the same office and then I got a call from
my resource manager.she requested  me to relocate to another place.I agreed (there were no projects in my office) and when the day of journey was approaching
 I didnt want to relocate .It was the first time I was going away from my home(went for trips but for short duration only)and was very tensed.I didnt know much
about the place I was going to (went there for a holiday),
didnt have many friends in that place and things like that.I  even thought that I could not leave my parents .
.But in the end I did and now I live on my own.
After coming here I realised how spoilt I was.I never did any work at home and here I had to do everything on my own.
Can you imagine a person who never folded her clothes in life ,actually washing , starching ,drying the clothes and then folding them????
I never thought I would do stuff like this.But I had to all these.....
Every thing has a price eand you'll have to pay for it !!!

Even with all the comforts (washing machine,TV,DVD player and other stuff),I still keep complaining
Thank god I've learnt stuff now I stopped complaining .
Now I can say that Im a very independent person.

Bachelorhood

Bachelorhood
---------------

Bachelorhood -The best part of life.
Bachelorhood is synonymous to freedom.A person can do what ever pleases to his/her mind.
No one would question them .Can go to a late night party,movie or if u are bored you can sleep of at 9:00 in the evening .
There will be no other responsibilities other than that of urs.Neednt wait for someone / cook or do stuff when u are married .
I feel that all this is too good to give it up for marriage.
But marriage is an inescapable punishment (my thoughts as of now).
I find many quotes like the following very apt.
  "Every man should get married some time; after all,happiness is not the only thing in life !!!"

  "Don't marry for money; you can borrow it cheaper"

  "Love is blind but marriage is an eye-opener"

How true these quotes are !!!
I feel that people should live n enjoy life to the max and then get married .
You never know how life would be in the other phase i.e after marriage!!!

How to kill time in office ??

I feel that the time just passes away when Im at home and doesnt move at all when Im at office.....
Having completed a project ,Im now in a freepool (i.e bench).This is what everyone craves for when they are in a project but hate it if they are really in freepool.
I envied my friends for being free n now Im bored stiff without work.It really is irritating to just check mails n have coffee breaks.....
I think of things to pass time at office.I guess the following wud be soem of the ways to pass t
* The best way would be to read/write blogs.
* Listening to songs.
* Reading news paper.
* Go play carroms/TT etc .
* search for jobs
* eShopping (if u r interested)
* Going for breaks every hour
* one round around the campus
* going for ride...

I need more ways....Any suggestions????

A memorable trip !!!

Our trip to shivasamudram water falls

This is one of the most memorable trips I've ever had...It all began on one fine sunny morning ....when my friends n me started for shivasamudram.Being new to b'lore didnt stop us to stay put at our place.we wanted to do some adventure n so we began our memorable journey....
We planned to start very early in the morning but as usual we couldnt wake up ....so by the time we got ready n went to bus stop it was 8.15 ....n the bus was full with people of all kinds ...We decided to catch the next bus which was 30 min later...we started the survey of the stinking bus stop...
you can find people almost living in the bus stops(eating, sleeping,chatting etc)!!!can u imagine that .... After passing our time in the bus stop for 1/2 hour we got a bus (typical erra bus ~= red bus) .We asked for tickets to shivasamudram ....but our conductor says that the bus wouldnt go to that place ....it'll go to a place  some 3-4 km of the S.S
We took the computerised tickets from the conductor n sat in the bus....we had to wait for an hour for the bus to start(the driver n conductor got down after we took the tickets) .Finally at around 9.30 we began our journey .We a jolly roller coster ride for a pittance (the bus was out of condition but our F1 driver wouldnt hear to the bus screeching n shaking !!!)
We had a complete 3 hr roller coster ride .After getting down at some remote place we find auto walas calling for sivasamudram....we not knowing kannada struggled to speak to the driver who wouldnt speak any other language....Finally after we tried speaking in kannada n showing it in action(I was reminded of the sunday afternoon news for deaf ) he agreed to take us there.
We were asked to sit in the auto .Now comes the most interesting part:The Auto
We cant call it an auto ....It had no headlights/ wiper/rear view mirror/horn/meter etc... we didnt find any thing we normally find in an auto...
After we sat in the auto a person(we thought he was the auto driver) comes and  starts repairing it.This goes on for soem time and then when the mechanic is done the driver comes with a bisleri bottle (containing petrol or similar fuel)
he then starts the auto .... (2 people pushing the auto) n drives in between the fields.It was a lovely day with slight wind and moderate heat.We go on n on n on (the auto travels at a speed of 3-5km/hr)....we finally reach the first water fall .We went down the hill and enjoyed there.... We came back after an hour n started for the other water fall (Again the same procedure of pushing the auto etc).
We reach there enjoyed it for a while n then we found there were no  restaurants around ...With our empty stomach we start our return journey (in the same auto)....We reach the busstop after an hour (for travelling 3km) and wait for the bus ....Beign a govt bus it comes on time ( 2hrs late).We stood for half the journey in the bus(bumpy,dusty roads) and then we got the last seats...By the time we reach b'lore we were totally exhausted ,hungry and almost ready to faint ....
I slept fot 12 hrs straight !!!!
This was our memorable journey to the shivasamudram water falls.

choosing a profession

Posted by sneha | 25 Oct 2006, 12:37pm

Variety is spice of life!!!!

this statement is my motto.... I really liked this statement when I first heard it but practising it really difficult.I started trying out things (for fun )and my life has changed becoz of this ...I first wanted to become a doctor but I was scared of cockroaches ....so I thought I'll become an artist ...but when I tried to draw one thing it usually turned out to be someother so i gave up .I then wanted to become a charted accountant ...but this also was a flop .... may be all this is becoz im a gemini!!!!.....I then decided to stop thinking and do things as they come ....n now finally im in a 9-5 job (always begins at 9 but never ends at 5-which I hate the most) and still trying to do things differently...........

I'll leave this and join a horticulture course or may be an MBA !!!!

what weird choices!!!
