The muted echo

Posted by vas in Poems | 7:50pm

I want to speak without words
I want u here without me reaching out
I am fearfully emotionless
I am painfully numb
Will u understand without an explanation?
But, there's nobody to listen to my silence
I'm sinking in the vacuum
Laughing at myself
How stupid I've been
Looking out for help blindly
Ignoring what I already know
No matter how many people I know
There's nobody who knows me
There's nobody to listen to my silence
Like a friend I've always been
To friend as well as foe
But nobody has seen
The need to help a doe
Lost in herself
Lost under expectations
Lost but not forever
She awaits your light
Dear friend
Kindly find her
Before hope turns to hatred
Fear swallowed by anger
Candor becomes caustic
And bitterness is all that remains
Of something once so pure.
Somebody! Listen to her silence....

Failed to learn again

Posted by vas in Poems | 6:31pm

When you love someone truly
You are so blinded
That you lose sight of the mask.
A small breach in the faćade
And the whole illusion is shattered.
Remember! Never get too close
As when the curtains burn out
And the act falls apart
You may get scalded too...
But Alas! The human heart
The innocent ignorant heart
When will thou learn?!
You heal, only to repel again
Someone you just started to trust
The trust that had spread
And rooted in the mind
Such that when the tree wilted
The soil weeped too...

A Happy Beginning

Posted by vas in My Stories | 2:25pm

"Oi Pentappa!" she yelled from the kitchen. She ran upto their bedroom and called again,"Pentappa! Wake up!"

A sleepy handsomely-set face looked up at her. She burst into laughter. He put on his spectacles and asked her, "Naku inka ardham avvaledu (I don't understand)... Why is it so funny?" She beamed at him as she recalled their pelli chupulu (a pre-arranged meeting for match-making)...

"Pentappa? What sort of a name is that," she had thought to herself while she was getting ready for the ceremony where the groom and his parents visit the would-be bride.

She didn't complain one bit, in fact, she was hell-bent on marrying the man her parents chose for her. Her friends would try counseling her against it, highlighting the disadvantages of an arranged marriage - "you know the groom better if you chose him yourself," etcetera etcetera...

After all the introductions and formalities were done, the groom and the bride were left to talk alone (while the rest of the family eavesdropped through all possible nooks, doors, walls..) She nervously looked up.

Instantly, she burst into a fit of laughter. She tried controlling herself but burst into more laughter as she saw his perplexed deep brown eyes under smart spectacles. She wiped tears from her eyes and through giggles apologized to the handsome well-built young man seated in front of her.

"It's just.. your name.. and you.. I'm really sorry... Hahaha.. Oh god! Where are my manners..." she blurted finally. He smiled and said, "My grandmother named me after her father. She loves me very much and so do I. Hence, I chose to keep the name."

Thus, after 8 months, the marriage hall adorned a flowery-board reading 'P A Reddy weds V Subbalakshmi'.

Subbu laughed every morning in the same way like she did when they first met. It was the same laugh that morning too.

"Subbu, it's been two years now! How can it be still funny... Subbu? You alright?" He ran towards her as she swayed sideways before fainting.

"Subbu..." A faint echo woke her up. She looked around, she saw her husband rubbing his brow in serous conversation with a doctor theough the glass panel in the door. He looked at her and his expression eased, he smiled weakly. She could sense his tense aura, something was wrong.

He excused himself and entered the hospital room. "Hey! How are you feeling? Don't worry Subbu. Nothing serious. They just want to keep you here to conduct a few tests just to make sure everything is alright."

She smiled and said, "Are you consoling me or yourself?" He laughed, but she detected a missing note. "Of course I'm sad," he said as if he was reading her mind, adding, "they want to keep you away from me for four days!"

She smiled and finally said, "But I feel fine. Why do I have to stay here for four days?"

"Like I said, they want to carry out some tests to make SURE you are fine," he replied. She started speaking, but felt a sudden pain in her abdomen and winced. He rushed to her side and stroked her hair gently and whispered, "Yes, I will call your mother. Don't worry about me, I'll eat outside. Just rest."

He stayed with her till she fell asleep. She silently thanked him as she drifted into a blank painless world.

She woke up to find her mother beaming by her side. "Congratulations, my dear! You are pregnant!" Subbu's eyes went wide, "What! Mother, when did you come and what are you saying? This is a dream. Subbu wake up!"

"No child, you aren't dreaming! You are pregnant! The baby is 2-months old!" her mother exclaimed.

"But..."

"No buts Subbu! It's happening! Now let's get you out of here. The doctors are discharging you. They said you must have fainted due to weakness and the extra burden. We must make sure..." Her mother's voice rang in the background. Subbu was puzzled. It wasn't possible.

Her thoughts were broken by a running Pentappa who hugged her tightly. "Let's get you home Subbu! Lots of things to plan and sort! A new member is arriving soon." He grinned from ear to ear.

While completing the formalities at the hospital reception, Subbu recognized a familiar face, a face long forgotten, she wanted to approach him, but didn't know what to say... He looked at her, smiled and he raised his hand to wave but, froze and turned never to look back...

It started raining outside like the same day one year back when Subbu had received a phone call. "I told you I would come back for you," the voice rejoiced on the other side, but Subbu had turned cold...

The wipers swished to and fro on the windshield. Subbu jerked back to the present. She smiled as the raindrops trickled on the windowpane. She always loved rain from a distance. She didn't like getting drenched in it but enjoyed the showering drops from a cozy, warm, dry place.

Subbu looked across at an ecstatic Pentappa driving merrily. Her mother sat behind them and started thanking all Gods in the entire universe for having blessed them. "He's going to be an Architect Subbu," she said.

Subbu turned and smiled, "Mom! He isn't even born yet. But it's igoing to be a.."

'A Girl!' Pentappa chimed in. They all reached home singing songs and Subbu soon forgot her worries.

As they were getting off from the car, Subbu felt so weak she couldn't move. Her chest heaved as she found it difficult to breathe. Meanwhile Pentappa was by her side and already carrying her into the hall of their house. He was whispering something but she couldn't understand him, but somehow it soothed her. She relaxed and slipped into a dreamless sleep.

Subbu opened her eyes after 48 hours. It took her all her might to keep her eyes open. She saw a drip on her arm and her teary-eyed mother by her side. "Thank God! You scared us all Subbu! Now see..." Her mother's voice was swept into the background by her brain. She was analyzing a lot of stuff at once. "Mother! Where's Pentappa?"

Don't worry about him child..." she said. "Mother! Where is he?" The intensity in Subbu's voice made her mother rise and call her son-in-law.

It was still raining outside and the voice on the phone resounded, "Lakshmi! Where are you? I'll come to get you wherever you may be." "You are too late Bhanu," Subbu had replied...

"Subbu," Pentappa touched her arm ever so lightly, and she replied coldly, "We need to talk."

They both looked at her mother who was already retreating from the room. After her mother left, Subbu glared at Pentappa, "What's going on?"

"That's what I'm asking Subbu... What is going on?"

"Come on, Pentappa. You know exactly what I'm talking about. The baby. The bouts of fainting. You reading my mind."

I'm your husband! I know you! I know when.. What's on your mind!"

"Pentappa! I remember! I know!"

He turned pale and turned to face her directly.

That one phone call. That one rainy day flooded three lives... Subbu recalled how dazed she was when she first saw what Pentappa was capable of. She loved him too much to ask any questions or demand any answers. She had pretended that she knew nothing and that day never existed.

But now? She had seen Bhanu again.. Memories of her college days, and the day Bhanu came searching for her, the day she saw something that shook the roots of her belief in their marriage, that day she chose to forget... all came rushing back.

After the phone call, Subbu cancelled all her appointments for the day. She stayed at home waiting for Pentappa, choosing not to bother him at his workplace. When he finally arrived, she didn't mention anything. She tried to be as normal as possible, but by bedtime and when all the servants had retired for the day, he asked her gently, "What is it Subbu?"

She looked at him with blank eyes which slowly brimmed with tears and she broke down in his arms and recited a chapter of her life which she thought was best left in her past.

Bhanu was Subbu's classmate in School. He had proposed to her then and she didn't take him very seriously. They got into different colleges in cities far apart and Subbu had thought that that was the end of it.

Bhanu on the other hand tried hard to keep in touch with Subbu. Since Subbu believed in prioritizing stuff in life, being in a medical college she couldn't afford to be in a relationship with him or anyone else for that matter. She had told him the same, but his reaction was something she hasn't expected anyone to ever say to her.

He said, "I understand Lakshmi. I respect your decision. I will work hard. Very hard. I will become a big man and come searching for you. It may take 5 years or maybe 10 years. But I will come.. I will come for you."

She thought that after they quit talking, Bhanu would soon forget her. He would find someone someday and she would be left alone. But then, the phone rang, Bhanu had returned.

"Prove to me that your husband loves you more than me. He can keep you happier than me. He can protect you better than me. Then, I will leave never to show you my face again," Bhanu had said. To this Subbu had replied firmly, "It doesn't matter to me. What's most important is I love Pentappa! He's my world now!"

But, Bhanu was determined to challenge Pentappa as he thought nobody deserved Subbu except him. Subbu didn't know how to explain to Pentappa or what to say to him but he simply said, "Let him come. Don't worry. Go to the hospital tomorrow. People need you. I'll take care of him."

The next day Subbu left for work as if nothing had happened the previous night. Well, she didn't remember any of it... Just as she reached her room in the hospital she realized she had left her locker keys at home. She groaned and drove back to home. She was standing at the door when she was hit by a strong gush of wind.

She almost fell to the pavement but forced herself up and went near the bushes of the lawn beside their home. She stood as if struck by thunder. Her breath was stuck in her throat. She stared as Pentappa and Bhanu appeared out of nowhere after which Bhanu ran.... He ran as fast as his feet could carry him. Subbu took a sharp breath in and then couldn't breathe for another 5 seconds before she hit the ground.

Until today she had not uttered a word about the incident. Now, she asked, "What is within me? Who are you, Petappa? Are you even Pentappa?"

A long silence stretched between them. It was so loud that Subbu felt her head would explode. She never imagined that silence could madden her so much. But she wanted to give him a chance to explain. She was forced to leave this trail of thought when she realized that she was no longer in her room.

They were floating... In void... She tried to speak but she couldn't utter a word. She stared wildly at Pentappa. His voice echoed in her head, "It's alright Subbu. I'm with you. I will not let anything happen to you. All you need to know is our baby will be very special... And we need to accept him as he is..."

months later, a healthy baby boy was born to Subbu and Pentappa. Completely healthy and kicking with life. Subbu regained her health and the baby grew rapidly. Subbu didn't question Pentappa anymore about anything.

Nobody knows what she remembers or what she conceals from the world. But one fine morning she said to her baby boy, "Shresht, you must use your special abilities to help anyone in need..."

Well those inquisitive about his special "abilities" can only read about those wonders in his mother's black leather-bound diary, which she threw into the deep blue sea, along with the rest of the contents of her brown rosewood chest, after she died an "ordinary death" after leading a full "ordinary life"...

The Circle

Posted by vas in My Stories | 3:53am

I am sitting on the pavement, looking up at the sky, simply lost in thought. I hear some jolly voices. I look on the other side of the road and see a group of boys. Something tells me they are school children (it isn’t that obvious as they are not in school uniform). The information seems to come from the guy sitting beside me (Do I know him, I wonder). Following the group of guys is a girl and a guy (friends - again the info from the guy on my left). I could hear them. The girl seems to be grateful to the guy for being such a good friend (Why cry about that? I think, and I get my answer. It seems the girl’s so-called "good" friends are selfish gits and hypocrites, they wouldn’t even notice her when they didn’t need her, but when they needed help it was entirely different. She came to know about all this only this year? Wake up, darling!) The guy on my left smiles. Maybe I seem foolish to him! Really?

At the turn of the road, the guy and the girl have to part ways. I feel an ominous strain nagging at me. I don’t understand. I don’t even know these people, then why should I care what’s happening to them? Anyway the girl thanks the guy again for being a good friend and turns away. The guy stands there for a sec and then calls her. She turns around, he walks towards her. Before he says anything a fast red Lamborghini takes a sharp turn and screeches to a halt, but....

I wake up with a jolt! Was it a nightmare?

It is 7:30 in the morning. It’s 17th Feb. My parent’s wedding anniversary. I get up, fish for the gift in my study table, go to my parent’s bedroom to wake ‘em up and wish them. But they are in the hall. Their eyes are all red. They obviously seem devoid of sleep and... what is it in their eyes? Fright? I am worried. Their expression changes as I approached them. They are acting the goody – goody parents who don’t want to worry their child b’cuz of their problems. I was stubborn - and they talked. It was the same dream.. they had the one I did, only difference being – no guy on my left, no sitting on pavement, and it was like they were conversing with each other (my mom as the girl and my dad as the guy). They had been having this dream every anniversary. The thing that bothered them this year was the accident (which wasn’t there in the previous dreams). They had been showing themselves to various psychologists in vain.

Something suddenly strikes me.  I was watching this reality show the previous day about reincarnation and getting to know our previous births throuugh hypnotism. Not a bad idea, dad says. After trying so many things we could try one more, says mom. You see they are desperate to solve this puzzle that had been bothering them for 18 years...

That night my grandpa came back from his tour. We were having dinner and I don’t know why, but I asked him about his childhood. After dinner he brought out his childhood album and we sat around him. He was showing me pictures of his first steps, first day to school, etc. Then suddenly he became emotional at the photo of a little him and a little girl sitting on a chair. He said in a shaky voice, "That’s my sis." I never knew about her. He turned to a page with the photo of a teenage girl. He said, “That’s the last anyone saw of her... (he seemed lost and then he said slowly) She died in an accident. He told us it was the Christmas party at their school and kids came in casuals. I glanced at the photo again. I let out a gasp. IT’S THE GIRL IN MY DREAM! I almost shrieked. My parents couldn’t get a glimpse of the faces all these years. Everything came to a standstill. All the events were taking place in our minds. I spoke - mom you are the reincarnation of grandpa’s sister and dad you are the guy, her best friend!

The mystery was finally solved. But something still nagged at me. Who was the guy beside me? Next morning, I asked grandpa to allow me to take a look at the photos again. Then I spotted the person who was on my mind. I asked grandpa who he was. HE WAS MY GRANDPA’S FATHER WHO HAD PASSED AWAY THE DAY I WAS BORN!

The circle of life. . . .

Surviving Human'kind' Part I

Posted by vas in My Stories | 4:07pm

The sweet cry of the baby girl thrilled him. The world’s top scientist of the 25th century had been restlessly pacing up and down the corridor of the lab just a few seconds ago. Bensen had just been successful in literally creating his own child...

A few thousands of kilometers away, inside a burning house, a 2-year old baby was left abandoned to cry to death. Nobody was worried about anybody in the inferno raging all around in the house and outside. The nuclear war had created havoc everywhere.

But, a passing gentleman, who had some heart left in him, detected the victim of cruelty. Luke was thus saved by Bounty. But, the problem was that the poisonous gases had badly affected the Luke’s vital organs. His chances of survival were bleak. Unless...

That was 22 years ago.

The red apple shone on the table. A beautiful person came for breakfast and sat down gracefully at the table. She had recently turned 22. Her father came in and smiled at her, wished her a good morning. Lucy replied with a smiling nod revealing perfect white teeth. She asked, “What’s for breakfast, dad?” Her voice was sweet and soothing, with comforting warmth. Bensen replied today it was chef’s special...

Somewhere in a burning hot red desert, a tall figure was seated on a rock and inhaling the red fumes. He was outside the space station which usually went on Mars to research whether the gold there was usable. He was in the midst of extracting it.

The 6'1” figure was clad in a space suit which permitted only his face to be exposed to the toxic atmosphere. The eyes were a melancholy brown. His brown hair fell gently on his wheatish coloured boyish face with a determined look. Bounty came out of the station and beckoned to Luke that it was time for the aircraft to leave the station for Earth...

My Scary Soccer Tales

Posted by vas in General | 7:58pm

The slippery ball rolled fast and furious outside the white line. To be only declared "out" by the referee. The opponent team’s captain gleefully came forward to take it, for a free hit. The captain of my team could only watch in horror and fear, drenched in cold sweat, since the other captain was the best player of the tourney. It didn't help that we were lagging behind by two goals.

As soon as the other captain took the outside, my captain snatched the ball from him and passed it to me. I ran with it and kicked it with all my force. A gooooaaaaal! Yay! We now had to score only one more  to level. But, hey, the referee pointed it out as a foul! Our joy instantly faded. We were all grim. I was feeling horribly guilty. For letting the entire team down! The other team was getting ready to take the foul's free kick. Again. Oh no.

Our hearts sank. A bead of sweat trickled down my forehead onto my cheek. The referee blew the whistle. The opponent team's captain came forth to take the foul. I closed my eyes out of fear. And then I just blanked out. I heard a sharp shrill ringing. The referee's whistle? Snapping me out of complete darkness.

I quickly opened my eyes to find myself on my bed in my room, drenched in cold sweat. My alarm had come to rescue me from this nightmare.

Me and football? I’d say that’s impossible. And it wouldn't be a great surprise if I ended up making only foul hits in this tacky game!

Doraemon and the Red Waterbottle

Posted by vas in General | 11:00am

She was walking to school, her water bottle swaying by her side, carrying her bag with a strange pride (contained precious notes of the class topper ;) ), and walking with long strides (she was tall). Her short hair played with the wind and she had to groom them every now and then.

She was all of fourteen and in the Tenth, but still she carried a blue ‘Doraemon’ bag and a red water bottle to school. She had not become a "young adult" like the rest of her classmates. It's not that she was not fashionable. She wore two watches of the latest trend alternatively.

Hmm, "strange girl" you would say if you knew her. I would agree. She was crazy with a weird sense of humor and great guts and really innocent. Not to forget, with a 24X7 talking mouth.

But in the class, she was a genius, the teachers couldn’t answer her questions. One of a kind. My plight was that she was my close friend.

Anyways she quickened her steps reflexly. Her watch showed she was five minutes late. It was the extra class you see, so if you weren’t on time you would have to miss the class. She hurried.

She was going upstairs to her class looking into the other empty classrooms and enjoying the silence (she enjoyed almost everything!) as only her class had been called for the extra classes. Every classroom had two doors. Usually one was kept closed. She reached the closed door of her class and looked in.

She saw the short guy with strange hair. She smiled in amusement. She was reminded of how her friends used to think she used to like him and she would laugh at their silly idea as the guy barely reached her shoulders!

She was about to enter the class when a breeze blew her hanky away. She went to fetch it and her bottle fell. She went forward to retrieve it. Suddenly she noticed a beeping red light in the next class. Her teacher had not arrived yet. She saw no harm in going in and checking. It was concealed behind the lower cupboard of the class but the latch had opened up. She noticed the source of the light was a network of intricately arranged wires. She realized what it was and almost jumped to tell the others.

Then, she noticed that her shiny shoe had a non shiny part. A transparent film from nowhere had stuck to her shoes. She was about to leave the room when she noticed another beeping light on the door. She got it. If she would leave the room the film would be detected and the bomb will go BOOM! She thought quickly.

Just then she saw her teacher about to enter her class. She called out to her, explained the seriousness of the issue to her briefly. The teacher’s face grew grim. She evacuated the class. My friend was left alone in the class. She began piling all the benches, teacher’s desk, chair, computer block, etc in front of the cupboard where the bomb was kept.

She did this to minimize the effect of the explosion. She then ran out of the room and jumped into the next room.

BOOM! There was a huge explosion. The whole building shook but nothing fell off. Only the class where the bomb was placed was badly hit and a wall or half of the other classes fell.

The rescue people arrived. They searched for her in the debris. Her friends came to know about what she had done just then. Some of her classmates rushed upstairs. The short guy I referred to above didn’t know anything about her, but came up as he heard the explosion. He noticed her hand feebly making its way out of the debris. He let out a scream, the rescuers rushed to pull her out.

She was so weak she couldn’t laugh when she came to know who saved her. Later she almost jumped out of joy when her bag was retrieved safe and good with all her notes intact. It was found hanging by the window in her class.

Dear diary, everybody is not as lucky as my friend. I don’t know how many thousands of people have died in such attempts of cruelty. We may have lost thousands of such intellectuals who may have proved Newton’s laws false. I fail to understand how some people can take pleasure in killing millions of innocent people. Anyways diary I got to go. I got homework to do.

Rainy Complaints Melt Away

Posted by vas in General | 6:25pm

My mom woke me up today morning, asking me to open the high window. It was raining and she wanted fresh breeze to flow into the house. I quickly got up, opened the window, and enjoyed the pleasant breeze on my face. I then fell back on bed. Suddenly, to my disappointment, it stopped raining. It reminded me of my long rivalry with rain...

I had never enjoyed getting all wet in the rain. Why? During the rainy season, I always wished it shouldn’t rain when I am going to school or while coming home. But my dear clouds would drop off their watery weight on me only during that time. OK, that’s fine. But not when you are carrying home precious notes and you don’t have an umbrella, and you think your bag is water proof, and when you reach home you realize it isn’t. What can one do? Sue the Monsoon Company? Luckily, I use water-proof ink. My notes are safe. Luckily again, my notebooks are generally do not get so wet.

Usually, when it rains while am coming home (I walk it all the way along with my friend) my friend’s home comes to our rescue. I don’t like barging into her house when it’s raining but what else can I do? She says it’s perfectly alright, I feel it’s perfectly alright, but obviously if she doesn't want me there, she can’t tell me to get out straight on the face.

Anyways, the worst is when it rains while going to school. Fortunately either the greenery on roadside protects me, or my dad drops me at school often. Thanks dad!

I enjoy rain while sitting at home with a novel in one hand, and a cup of coffee in the other (or mom’s homemade soup) and sitting in the balcony with mom, simply enjoying the breeze. But, that never happens. I’m not home when it rains, or it stops raining just when I reach the balcony.

You only get to hear about ‘the hours of steady rain’ nowadays. The rain only ends up making the day more humid rather than cool. Anyways when it rains and when I am home, I generally run into the kitchen and sit on the platform and ask my mom to make soup. We chat while the soup boils, and just when we take it to the balcony, settle down, my dear friend stops raining.

But, today I don’t have any complaints. Though it stopped raining as soon as I got up in the morning, it rained again at noon and again in the evening. Today is a holiday and I even had a bowl of soup in the evening when it rained, sitting in the balcony with mom. And, today even the temperatures dropped! So, dear rain, I take back all my complaints. :)

Dream of Peace

Posted by vas in Poems | 5:55pm

I saw a dream of peace,
and wrote on a paper piece.
The dream I saw,
had a meaning of its own.
In the dungeons thrown,
was the peace of the world.
There was sorrow and sorrow
there were wars and wars
there were many shooting stars
but, nobody wished of peace.
At last came an angel
sounds resounded, jingle and jingle
like Gandhi it teached and preached
about peace and peace.
As the divine stepped on Earth,
brightness brought, its birth.
All the wars stopped,
just to look at its face so sacred.
So, thus was peace brought
on this Earth full of war & dirt.

A Mystery Still

Posted by vas in My Stories | 9:14am

It was the day I had been longing for all my life. We five adventure seekers were on our way to unveil secrets of the deep oceans. My Grandpa, Mr. Reddy (his friend), Miss Daisy (scientist), Mr. Peter (meteorologist) and I were heading towards the Bermuda Triangle!

As our ship approached the Bermuda Triangle Grandpa and Mr. Reddy started behaving in a weird manner. Sometimes there would be a satisfaction of achieving something in their eyes, and at another time fear. They discussed about something late in the night. None of us was allowed to interfere. We started worrying about them.

At last we reached the Bermuda Triangle. We were all ready with our instruments. All were excited. We were going to reveal a secret which many scientists failed to. Suddenly, we saw that Grandpa and his friend were in the ocean in scuba suits. They were debating over something. Then,my grandpa took out a glden box the size of a pencil box with a diamond in the place of a keyhole.

There was an oppressive silence and stillness. A chill ran down my spine. Grandpa pressed the diamond and instantly the calm sea roared and the sky thundered. Grandpa and his friend were sucked into the angry ocean. Strange lights started illuminating the sky from the ocean. A simlilar light also appeared from Grandpa's cabin.

Suddenly, Grandpa came out shouting at the top of his voice asking us to leave the ship. Alas! there was no time to see the origin of the light in his cabin. Leaving all our instruments on board we jumped into the dark ocean. As soon as we jumped the the ship sank as if the hungry ocean had gulped it in one go.

The storm rested and a rescue team saved us. After this extraordinary event Granpa became a silent man. He never referred to it again. Mr. Reddy couldn't survive in the water due to shortage of oxygen. That's what we thought.

But Grandpa's eyes had a different story to tell. They were always filled with mixed emotions of sadness, fear and regret when he said, "He got it, but couldn't survive it..."

Beginning or the End?

Posted by vas in My Stories | 11:06pm

I was being shaken vigorously. I woke up from my deep sleep to find my mother’s usually calm face highly excited waking me up at about 1 O’ clock at night. I wondered what it could be hmmm…. Before I could think of anything my mom almost screamed telling me that the crew from ‘Shop In Your Pajamas’ have come to our place to make ME the FIRST participant in their show! I went mad.

I remembered that I had sent the idea of this show in response to an advertisement demanding ideas for an entertaining new show a few months ago. I am glad they made me their first participant.

In this show the crew (comprising of a host and cameramen, obviously there would be a director, producer, etc., but they wont be moving around) would pick a house at random at almost midnight and ask them to shop in their pajamas or whatever they are sleeping in! They get to shop in Ambience Mall for an hour and get whatever things they pick for free! But you can’t buy furniture, electronics, and costly jewelry.

The next moment I was sitting in a limo chatting with the host. As soon as I got down my vision got blurry. The time started ticking and I started running –due to excitement or……? The course of events changed from excitement to fear. Suddenly I fell down. I saw something above the Big Bazaar banner but couldn’t identify it. Everything faded to black and I slipped into unconsciousness.

I am again being shaken vigorously to be woken up by my mother’s usually calm face highly excited at about 1 O’ clock. Hmm that’s interesting. She (again) almost screams and tells me that the crew from blah blah blah blah . . . . . you know it right? Was I actually dreaming or have I become a psycho? Anyways the same chain of events flowed (exactly similar!).

But this time I know that I am running out of fear as . . . something is following me. I don’t know what. I am running for my life, I trip, and I fall. AAAAHHHH! Somebody help me! I am helpless. Oh God what shall I do? I shouldn’t have come after seeing that unlucky horrid dream.

Suddenly I see, observe and identify the thing on the Big Bazaar banner. To my horror it’s it’s it’s. Oh why do words stick to the throat and don’t come to the mouth when needed desperately!

NO NO NO I can’t I just can’t slip into unconsciousness nowee . . .
